2026 Terra Nova Raptor Closure Recommendation
Raptors commonly nest at Terra Nova between March and June each year. Southwest Oregon Climber’s Coalition will be monitoring territorial response during the 2026 nesting season. You can help us by following the recommendations posted below and submitting a monitoring form.

Current Peregrine nest status: Courtship and Site Selection
Status details: The Peregrine Falcons are beginning to select a nest location and are likely sensitive to disturbance near any possible nest ledges. There is a historic nest location in the Boneyard and another on the south side of the Palace.
Current Recommended Closure: Do not climb routes that intersect or are adjacent to potential nest ledges and be attentive to raptor activity in all areas of the crag.

- Timewave
- Hammer Time
- Stormy Mondays
- Forbidden Storm
- Goldhammer
- Morning Dew
- Forbidden Time
PAY SPECIAL ATTENTION FOR RAPTOR RESPONSE ON:
- All routes in Boneyard
- West end of Rock City Wall past Pavlova
- The rappel anchors of Valhalla
- Bill NewComb and Mycelium towers
- South end of Acid Castle
- All routes on the Palace
STOP ACTIVITY OR RELOCATE IF:
- A large bird dives towards you
- A large bird flies in circles above or near you
- A large bird makes loud sounds continuously while looking at you
